This bill reauthorizes through FY2030 the National Volcano Early Warning and Monitoring System of the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS).
The system, implemented by the USGS in collaboration with the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, includes a monitoring network, volcano observatories, a national data center, and external research grants.

Dingell, Jr. Conservation, Management, and Recreation Act (43 U.S.C. 31k(c)) is amended— (1)in paragraph (1)— (A)by striking United States Geological Survey and inserting Secretary; and (B)by striking 2019 through 2023 and inserting 2026 through 2029; and (2)in paragraph (2)— (A)by striking National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration and inserting Secretary of Commerce; and (B)by striking such sums as may be necessary for the period of fiscal years 2023 through 2024 and inserting $470,000 for each of fiscal years 2026 through 2029.
