3 generations of FDNY family share their tragic 9/11 story

Most of today's students were not alive for the terrorist attacks on September 11, 2001. Teachers across the country are now bringing the history and lessons from that day to the next generation. NBC News’ Valerie Castro reports.

Former President George W. Bush visited Carlton Shelley II’s fifth grade class at Emma E. Booker Elementary School on Sept. 11, 2001. Shelley then served as his high school’s class president, captain of the football team, U.S. Military Academy cadet and a member of the 9th Cavalry Regiment.
