Christina Applegate, who has been waging a public battle with the autoimmune disease multiple sclerosis, announced Tuesday that she discovered she does not, in fact, have MS. She is now one of an estimated 25 million Americans living with a rare or undiagnosed illness. Tom Hanson reports.

Applegate, who announced her MS diagnosis to the public in 2021, says she feels like she’s now “back at square one.”

Christina Applegate said her health has only “gotten worse” in the wake of her multiple sclerosis misdiagnosis. “You don’t get misdiagnosed and then all of the sudden I’m better,” the actress explained on her “MeSsy” podcast Tuesday, which she co-hosts with Jamie-Lynn Sigler, who suffers from MS.
