Nuclear radiation in Russia, Ukraine? No, just hacked warning alerts

Nuclear danger, radiation threat and street combat: Ukrainians received a wave of messages Sunday night that raised alarm with a series of grave — and baseless — warnings.

Warnings startle people in Ukraine, but authorities say they cleared up the confusion in under an hour.

Both Russian and Ukrainian authorities told residents other air raid systems, like sirens, were working as normal.

Ukraine's Air Force said its air alert system was hacked after false radiation hazard and chemical attack warnings spread panic across Kyiv on Sunday.
