During a lunch with AI leaders at the White House, President Donald Trump told reporters he believes that data centers will be "financially beneficial and otherwise beneficial" to local communities where they are built.

Sen. Jon Husted’s (R-Ohio) Ratepayer Protection Act aims to mitigate high electricity costs associated with data centers, but, even if it passes, it’s not clear if the bill would have any impact.
